How to Install gpsPhoto.pl on CentOS-5.2 and Cygwin

gpsPhoto.pl is a Perl script. We need additional Perl packages though the script itself is needed to be downloaded and placed.
  • wget http://gps2photo.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/gps2photo/gpsPhoto/src/gpsPhoto.pl

Aditional packages needed by gpsPhoto.pl are:
  • XML::Parser
  • Image::ExifTool

For CentOS-5.2, packages are installed as follows:
  1. yum install perl-XML-Parser
  2. wget http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el5/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/perl-Image-ExifTool-7.30-1.el5.rf.noarch.rpm
  3. rpm -ivh perl-Image-ExifTool-7.30-1.el5.rf.noarch.rpm

For Cygwin and general way to use CPAN, as follows:
  1. perl -MCPAN -e shell
    1. cpan[1]> install Image::ExifTool
    2. cpan[2]> install XML::Parser
    3. cpan[3]> exit
